Ritu Arya is an English actress known for her work on Doctors as Megan Sharma (2017), and the work in which she gained British Soap Award nomination. Other television works include roles as an android Flash in the sci-fi series Humans and from 2020 to 2024 as Lila Pitts in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. She portrayed Lena Khan in Polite Society in 2023.

She is from an Indian background. Her parents are in the real estate business. Ritu has two brothers: Romi and Rahul. Rahul is also an actor. Ritu developed interest in acting during her teenage days.

Education of Ritu Arya: 

She graduated in astrophysics from the University of Southampton; she was very lively there with theatre and comedy societies, even attending the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She then trained at the Oxford School of Drama.

She started off in short films and was a guest in Sherlock in 2014. She took on the role of the series regular Dr. Megan Sharma in Doctors, for which she received a Best Newcomer nomination at the British Soap Awards in 2017. From 2016 to 2018, she played Flash in Humans.

In 2019, she appeared in the Christmas-themed drama film Last Christmas as Jenna. She then appeared in the Netflix comedy-drama series Feel Good, playing Lava, in 2020 and had a guest appearance in the science fiction series Doctor Who. Praised for her portrayal of Lila Pitts on The Umbrella Academy's second season, she was cast again for the third season, which premiered in 2022; Bustle described her performance as "scene-stealing," while Uproxx declared her the "wild-card" of the series.

In 2021, she co-starred on the Netflix film Red Notice; in 2023, she acted in Barbie for director Greta Gerwig. Next year, in 2024, Ritu plays the lead role of MI6 agent Zara Taylor, in the action series Paris Has Fallen, with actor Tewfik Jallab.
